Broken Heroes is an interconnected romantic suspense trilogy by Evie James following three Thorin brothers—Atticus, Conan, and Braxton—from Tacoma’s emergency department into a widening world of Russian organized crime, mafia power, war-zone survival, and espionage. A doctor, a nurse, and a paramedic, the brothers each built an adult life around saving other people while keeping their own childhood scars carefully contained. Across three different love stories, danger forces each man to confront the difference between protecting the woman he loves and trying to control the outcome for her.

The trilogy begins with Night Shift, continues with Day Shift, and concludes with Mission Shift. The stories move from a workplace age-gap medical romance threatened by the Russian mob, to an amnesia love story with a hidden mafia princess and forced marriage, to a war-zone survival romance between an American paramedic and a lethal Russian double agent. Each book follows a different central couple while the Thorin family, found-family relationships, and criminal conflicts build from book to book and lead into the larger Evie-verse.
