Lachlan’s possessiveness is fully awake in this quote, and Isabella has become the future he wants before he is ready to say it gently.
I didn’t want to share.
Didn’t want to let her go.
I wanted Isabella Eliana Duarte in my bed, in my life, and eventually wearing my fucking name.
Selfish?
Absolutely.
I’d worry about that tomorrow.
Tonight, she was mine.
~Lachlan Byrnes, Eyes Never Lie
About this Lachlan Byrnes quote
This Lachlan Byrnes quote leans hard into the possessive, obsessive side of Eyes Never Lie. Lachlan knows wanting Isabella in his bed, life, and name is selfish. He knows her choices matter. He also knows that, for one night, every part of him wants to keep her. This post is best for readers who love morally gray mafia heroes, possessive romance, “mine” energy, and the kind of dark love that is honest enough to admit when desire and devotion are tangled together.
